Story from the artist: This Ngirungiru couple were busy bringing in all sorts to make their home in a nest box beneath the veranda canopy of the Whenua Hou hut. I spent some time here helping out the Kākāpō Recovery Program and grew very fond of this pair. On a predator free island, the chicks had the best chance under the care of these dedicated parents.
